Angus & Robertson was formed in 1886 by David Angus and George Robertson, both of whom worked at (a different) George Robertson’s Sydney book retailing concern. In 1978, the publishing and bookselling arms became separate companies, with the A&R imprint now part of HarperCollins Publishers Australia.
